A Time of Renewal and Reflection
The High Holidays—Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur—are the holiest days of the Jewish year, a time of teshuvah, which means “returning” to G‑d and realigning our lives with what matters most. On Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, we crown G‑d as King through heartfelt prayers and the sounding of the shofar, a powerful call to reflection and renewal. Ten days later comes Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, when we fast, dress in white, and join together in prayer, seeking forgiveness and a fresh start.
At Chabad, no tickets are sold and no one is charged to pray—everyone is warmly welcome to take part in accessible services with clear explanations, moving melodies, and a caring community atmosphere. The journey continues with Sukkot and Simchat Torah, when the awe of the High Holidays overflows into joyful celebration, festive meals, and spirited dancing.
