Tashlich & Shofar
Tashlich is a beautiful tradition performed on the afternoon of Rosh Hashanah. The Hebrew word “Tashlich” means “to cast away,” and during the ceremony, we symbolically cast our sins into a body of water, such as a river or an ocean. This powerful act represents our hope to start the new year with a clean slate. This year, since Day 1 of Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat, Tashlich — along with the shofar sounding — is observed on Day 2.
