Chanukah 2025
The Festival of Lights and Miracles
Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day celebration commemorating the victory of light over darkness and the miracle of the oil in the Holy Temple. When the Jewish people rededicated the Temple, they found only one cruse of undefiled oil—enough to burn for a single day. Miraculously, it burned for eight days and nights, until new oil could be prepared.
To celebrate, we light the nine-branched Menorah, adding one candle each night until all eight are kindled. This timeless ritual reminds us that even a small amount of light can dispel a great deal of darkness, and that miracles can happen in every generation.
Dates: Chanukah begins after sundown on Sunday, December 14, 2025 (Kislev 25) and concludes on Monday, December 22 (Tevet 3).
